Israeli PM tests positive for Covid, days ahead of his India visit

Jerusalem/New Delhi, March 28 : Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has tested positive for Covid-19, his office said on Monday, putting a question mark on his upcoming visit to India from April 3-5. “Prime Minister Bennett was found positive for the coronavirus,” his office said in a brief statement in Hebrew. His office said that he feels well and will continue working remotely from his home. On Sunday, Bennett participated in a news conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The announcement of his getting Covid-19 comes with days left for his India visit. He is slated to pay a visit to India from April 3-5, the Indian government announced. The visit is expected to further strengthen the excellent bilateral cooperation in areas including agriculture, water, trade among others. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It would take place on the occasion of the commemoration of 30 years of full diplomatic relations between India and Israel and 75 years of India’s independence. RN
