Athens, August 21: The Indian Ambassador to Greece, Ravi Shankar, met with Israel’s newly appointed Ambassador, Panina Yanay, to discuss the strengthening strategic relations between the two nations.
On Thursday, Yanay visited the Indian Embassy as part of a courtesy call, where she was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Shankar. The embassy shared details of the meeting on the social media platform X. Yanay also posted a glimpse of their meeting, stating, “True friendship from Jerusalem to New Delhi! Beyond borders.”
She captured moments before, during, and after the meeting in a 36-second reel. Prior to her visit to the Indian Embassy, she remarked, “Today, we are going to the embassy of one of Israel’s best friends, India.”
The visit highlighted the increasing strategic contacts among India, Israel, and Greece in recent years. The three countries share common interests in trade, connectivity, energy, technology, and maritime cooperation in the Mediterranean region and broader West Asia. Given the shifting regional dynamics, dialogue among these nations is deemed crucial.
The Israeli Embassy quoted Ambassador Yanay, emphasizing that the relationship between Israel and India is not just based on shared interests but has evolved into a strong, deep, and strategic friendship founded on trust and shared values over the years.
