New Delhi, May 31: Senior official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Yadollah Javani, has claimed that Iran’s adversaries have underestimated its strength and resolve. He stated that despite various pressures and challenges, Tehran has emerged stronger than before, while the United States faces decline and failures.
In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Javani emphasized that enemies miscalculated their ability to impose war on Iran for a quick victory. He noted that military actions from the U.S. and Israel against Iran began on February 28, marked by airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian officials and military commanders, including the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
In retaliation, Iranian armed forces initiated daily missile and drone operations targeting Israeli-occupied areas and U.S. military bases and assets throughout the region. Javani asserted that the enemies aimed to eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities, dismantle its missile defense systems, and ultimately overthrow the Islamic Republic.
He claimed these objectives have failed, altering the regional dynamics in favor of Iran. Discussing the developments in the area, Javani mentioned that Iran now holds a significant position in the Strait of Hormuz, achieving a status that he described as the “legal right of the Iranian people” after 500 years.
Javani declared that Iran is in a “victorious and strong position” and has already laid out its terms to resolve the current situation. He stated, “Now the decision lies with the United States.”
Commenting on former President Donald Trump, the IRGC commander indicated that Washington faces two options: a “bad path” or “the worst path.” He urged the U.S. to decide whether to accept the rights and conditions of the Iranian people or continue the war.
Javani warned enemies against making further miscalculations, asserting that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared. He cautioned that if any new mistakes occur, the Islamic Republic’s response would be stronger, more decisive, and beyond what people can imagine.
