New Delhi, August 26: U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant has asserted that American pressure on Iran is yielding results. He noted that both the Iranian President and the Speaker of Parliament are acknowledging the country’s economic crisis. Besant clarified that the Trump administration will continue to tighten economic sanctions until Tehran is completely isolated.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Besant stated, “The pressure is working. Iran’s leadership now admits that what the world is witnessing is true.” President Masoud Pajeshkian has openly recognized the economic crisis and shortages of essential goods in Iran, suggesting that war must eventually come to an end.
Besant further highlighted that the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, expressed in even clearer terms that no matter how much military power they possess, if the people are starving and there is no economic activity, development, or domestic production, they cannot endure for long.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary warned that under President Trump, the Treasury Department will continue to cut off every economic aid and resource that supports this regime until Tehran is entirely isolated. He emphasized that the goal is to sever every economic lifeline that supports this oppressive regime until Tehran stands alone.
Besant noted that President Trump has taken steps that his predecessors had long avoided. Under his leadership, the U.S. is not merely attempting to manage or control threats from Iran but is actively working towards their complete elimination.
He added that those who stand with the U.S. will reap the benefits of partnership. However, those who align themselves with Tehran will face isolation alongside a regime that is increasingly weakening and becoming isolated.
