Iran Unrest Linked to US and Israel, Claims Iran Foreign Minister

New Delhi: In the midst of violent protests in Iran, the ongoing exchange of accusations between the United States and Iran has intensified. On Monday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi alleged during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran that the recent unrest in the country is significantly influenced by the involvement of the United States and Israel.

Following the outbreak of violence in Iran, the US warned that its military could strike Iran if the Iranian government harms protesters. Responding to this, Araghchi stated that Iran possesses multiple pieces of evidence proving that the US and Israel have a major role in the current turmoil within the country.

Evidence of Foreign Involvement in Iran Protests

Araghchi’s remarks came after clashes between protesters and security forces resulted in many deaths on both sides. During the protests, several mosques, medical centres, and other buildings across Iran were set on fire. He claimed that the protests have turned violent and bloody intentionally to provide US President Donald Trump a pretext for military intervention in Iran.

He further said, “We have numerous documents and proofs indicating the involvement of the US and Israel in recent terrorist acts in Iran.” According to Araghchi, armed individuals were observed among the protesters, and audio recordings near Tehran reveal instructions allegedly given to terrorist agents to open fire on demonstrators, target security and police forces, and even attack peaceful civilians.

Claims of Direct Orders and Mossad Involvement

The Iranian foreign minister also asserted that several victims were shot from behind. He stated, “There is concrete evidence that some of these agents received direct orders from foreign powers. This is a clear indication of the significant role played by the US and Israel in these terrorist activities.”

Araghchi accused Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency of supporting infiltrators. He alleged that Persian-speaking Mossad operatives had infiltrated the protests to further destabilise the situation.

These statements come amid heightened tensions in Iran as the government tries to contain widespread unrest, while the international community watches closely.
