IPL Team Visits Ayodhya, Pays Homage at Shri Ram Mandir

Mumbai, March 21: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is set to kick off on March 28 and will run until May 31. In anticipation of the tournament, players and management from an IPL team visited Ayodhya on Saturday to pay their respects at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

During the visit, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was seen meditating separately for a while. The team expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to witness the Shri Ram idol, marking a significant moment since the temple’s establishment.

Key players, including Rishabh Pant, fast bowler Mayank Yadav, coach Rajkumar Sharma, and franchise owner Sanjeev Goenka, participated in the rituals and offered prayers. Pant’s meditative state drew attention from both devotees and officials present, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere.

According to Darshan coordinator Rajneesh Sharma, a group of about 20 players conducted the rituals with great reverence. Special arrangements were made by the temple administration to ensure a smooth darshan process. Senior officials from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Gopal and Ramshankar, were also present to guide the team.

The team traveled from Lucknow to Ayodhya and returned to Ekana Stadium afterward, where preparations for upcoming matches are underway. Local residents appreciated the players’ spiritual visit, viewing it as a beautiful blend of sports and faith.
