Ahmedabad, May 12: The 56th match of IPL 2026 is taking place at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). SRH won the toss and chose to bowl first.
After winning the toss, Hyderabad’s captain Pat Cummins stated, “We will bowl first. We have never played here before, so we want to assess the pitch with the ball first and then chase the target. Hopefully, it will get easier later. We have earned the right to give ourselves a few more chances to reach the finals. We have three matches left now, and we have nothing to lose. There are no changes in the team.”
GT’s captain Shubman Gill remarked, “We were also considering bowling first. However, this wicket looks better compared to previous matches. As this is the final phase of the tournament, it is crucial to showcase our best performance and give our all. We are going in with the same team.”
SRH stands second in the points table with 7 wins out of 11 matches, while GT is third with the same number of wins. Both teams are aiming to secure a victory to climb to the top of the table. This is the first encounter of the season between the two teams. SRH won their last match against Punjab Kings by 33 runs, while GT has clinched victories in their last four matches.
