New Delhi, April 29: Rajasthan Royals (RR) continued their impressive performance in IPL 2026 with a commanding victory over Punjab Kings at the New PCA Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday evening. This win allowed RR to match the Mumbai Indians (MI) and surpass the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
This marks the sixth occasion RR has successfully chased down a target of 200 runs or more in IPL history. With this victory, RR has now outperformed RCB and SRH, both of whom have achieved this feat five times.
MI holds the record for accomplishing this six times, while the Punjab Kings lead the league with a record of ten successful chases of 200 runs or more. However, they also hold the unfortunate record for the most failures in defending such targets, having lost eight times after scoring 200 or more. RCB has lost seven times, CSK six times, and KKR five times under similar circumstances.
In the match between Punjab Kings and RR, a total of 200 runs or more has been achieved for the ninth time this season, tying a record for the most in a single IPL season. This record is likely to be broken in the current season, as nine instances also occurred in IPL 2025.
