
Bengaluru, April 5: In the 11th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Batting first, RCB scored an impressive 250 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Tim David delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 70 runs off just 25 balls.
After losing the toss, RCB had a strong start. Virat Kohli and Phil Salt added 37 runs for the first wicket in 4.3 overs. Kohli was dismissed for 28 runs off 18 balls. Phil Salt played brilliantly, scoring 46 runs off 30 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Devdutt Padikkal made his second consecutive half-century, scoring 50 runs off just 29 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He partnered with captain Rajat Patidar for a quick 58-run stand for the third wicket in just 21 balls.
Following this, Tim David and Rajat Patidar took charge. The duo put together an unbeaten partnership of 99 runs off 35 balls. Rajat scored 48 runs off 19 balls, hitting 1 four and 6 sixes. Meanwhile, David’s explosive innings included 3 fours and 8 sixes, leading him to a total of 70 runs without losing his wicket. Thanks to their outstanding performances, RCB set the highest score of the season so far. For CSK, Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton, and Shivam Dube each took one wicket.
Under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Chennai Super Kings fielded a team that included Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Prashant Veer, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Matt Henry, and Khaleel Ahmed.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Rajat Patidar, featured Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinandan Singh, and Jacob Duffy.
