IPL 2026: LSGs Struggles Against RCB Continue at Home Ground

Mumbai, May 7: The 50th match of IPL 2026 is set to take place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium this Thursday evening, featuring the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Although Ekana is LSG’s home ground, their record against RCB here has been dismal. LSG has yet to secure a victory against RCB at this venue.

LSG’s performance in IPL 2026 has been disappointing. The team has managed only 2 wins out of 9 matches and currently sits at the bottom of the points table in 10th place. They have lost their last 6 matches consecutively. Given this form, expectations for a miraculous performance against a strong team like RCB under captain Rishabh Pant are low.

Historically, LSG has struggled against RCB at Ekana. Two matches have been played between the two teams at this stadium, both resulting in defeats for LSG. The first encounter took place in 2023, where RCB won by 18 runs. The second match occurred in 2025, with RCB claiming victory by 6 wickets. The outcome of the upcoming clash will reveal who prevails in this ongoing struggle.

Overall, LSG’s record against RCB is poor. Out of 7 matches played between the two teams, RCB has won 5 times, while LSG has only managed 2 victories. In their first match of the season, RCB defeated LSG by 5 wickets.

On the other hand, RCB has had a strong season, winning 6 out of 9 matches and currently holding 12 points in 3rd place. They faced a setback in their last match against the Gujarat Giants (GT), losing by 4 wickets. RCB will aim to get back on track against LSG, and a win could propel them to the top of the points table.
