IPL 2026: LSG Opts to Bowl First After Winning Toss Against KKR

Kolkata, April 9: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have won the toss and elected to bowl in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The host team KKR aims to secure their first victory in this match.

Under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, LSG has retained its playing eleven without any changes. KKR, however, has made one adjustment, bringing Sunil Narine into the lineup in place of Blessing Muzarabani.

After winning the toss, LSG captain Rishabh Pant stated, “We would like to bowl first. We want to challenge the opposition to bat first. We trust our bowlers; they will perform well. Certainly, winning enhances the team’s morale. We are playing with the same team.”

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane remarked, “We also wanted to bowl. Sunil (Narine) is back in the playing eleven. Varun is still recovering from his hand injury. When Cameron Green bowls, we have an extra bowler.”

So far this season, Kolkata Knight Riders have played three matches. They faced a 6-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opening match, followed by a 65-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Their match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended without a result due to rain, leaving both teams with one point each. Currently, KKR stands at the ninth position in the points table.

On the other hand, LSG has won one out of two matches and is positioned seventh in the points table. They lost their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets but bounced back with a 5-wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

KKR’s playing eleven features: Finn Allen, Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Cameron Green, Ankursh Raghuwanshi, Rovman Powell, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Sunil Narine, Anukul Roy, Navdeep Saini, and Kartik Tyagi.
