
Bengaluru, April 24: In the 34th match of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans (GT) faced off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday. Batting first, GT scored 205 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. This marks the highest score for Gujarat Titans against RCB in IPL history.
Previously, in 2024, GT had set their highest score against RCB at 200 runs, also losing 3 wickets. Captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan provided a stellar start, forming a partnership of 128 runs for the first wicket in just 12.4 overs. This partnership is the largest for GT against RCB for any wicket.
Shubman Gill contributed 32 runs off 24 balls, while Sai Sudharsan scored a magnificent century, his third in IPL. He faced 58 balls and made 100 runs, hitting 11 fours and 5 sixes. During this innings, Sudharsan also became the fastest player to reach 2,000 runs in IPL, achieving this milestone in just 47 innings. He is the second player from Gujarat Titans to reach this mark, following Shubman Gill.
Jos Buttler, batting at number three, scored 25 runs off 16 balls. Washington Sundar remained unbeaten with 19 runs off 12 balls. In the final overs, Jason Holder, playing his first match of the season, made a powerful contribution of 23 runs off just 10 balls. For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Suyash Sharma, and Josh Hazlewood each took one wicket.
Gujarat Titans made two changes for this match, bringing in Jason Holder and Manav Suthar, while Glenn Phillips was dropped. RCB gave Jacob Bethel a chance in place of the injured Phil Salt.
