IPL 2026: Dhruv and Yashasvi Shine as RR Posts 210 Against GT

Ahmedabad, April 4: In the ninth match of IPL 2026, the Rajasthan Royals faced off against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Batting first, Rajasthan scored an impressive 210 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal both played pivotal roles with half-centuries.

Winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals opted to bat and made a strong start. Vaibhav Suryaanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased excellent form, putting together a solid 70-run partnership for the first wicket in just 6.2 overs. Vaibhav scored 31 runs off 18 balls, striking at a rate of 172. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed a powerful 55 runs off 36 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Riyan Parag had a brief outing, scoring 8 runs off 4 balls before being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

Shimron Hetmyer also began well but fell for 18 runs off 8 balls, caught by Mohammad Siraj off Ashok Sharma’s bowling. Donovan Ferreira was dismissed for just 1 run by Kagiso Rabada. However, Dhruv Jurel anchored the innings with a remarkable performance, scoring 75 runs off 42 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja and Jofra Archer contributed 7 and 1 run, respectively, remaining not out. Kagiso Rabada was the standout bowler for Gujarat, taking 2 wickets, while Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Ashok Sharma each claimed one wicket.

Under the leadership of Riyan Parag, the Rajasthan Royals lineup included Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryaanshi, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Tushar Deshpande, and Sandeep Sharma.

In the absence of Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans, led by Rashid Khan, featured Kumar Kushagra, Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Ashok Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna in their squad.
