Mumbai, May 15: In a significant move for IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has signed left-arm fast bowler Kuldeep Yadav to replace the injured Khaleel Ahmed. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has brought in Richard Gleeson as a replacement for Nuwan Tushara.
According to a statement released by the IPL on Friday, “Kuldeep Yadav will join CSK for ₹30 lakh, while Richard Gleeson will become part of RCB for ₹1.6 crore.”
Kuldeep, who made his debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2021, also played for the team in 2023. During his two seasons, he participated in three matches and took two wickets.
Richard Gleeson has claimed nine wickets in six T20 matches for England. He represented CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2024 and 2025 editions of the league, playing two matches for CSK and one for MI.
Khaleel Ahmed was a key figure in CSK’s fast bowling lineup for IPL 2026. He played five matches and took two wickets before being sidelined due to injury. Khaleel suffered a quadriceps injury and is currently recovering after surgery.
Nuwan Tushara did not play any matches for RCB this season. He was ruled out after failing a crucial fitness test required by Sri Lanka Cricket, which denied him a No Objection Certificate due to not meeting the necessary fitness standards.
As it stands, RCB leads the points table with 16 points from 12 matches, while CSK is in fifth place with 12 points from 11 matches.
