Overton has had an impressive season with CSK, claiming 14 wickets in 10 matches, making him the leading wicket-taker for the franchise in IPL 2026. CSK provided an update on Overton’s injury via their social media account, stating, “Jamie Overton has sustained an injury to his right thigh and will return to the UK for assessment.”
However, CSK did not specify how many matches Overton will miss. In CSK’s last match, he was named ‘Man of the Match’ against Lucknow Super Giants, taking 3 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. His outstanding bowling performance helped CSK restrict LSG to a total of 203 runs. Overton has maintained an average of 17.78 this season, with an economy rate of 8.89.
