
Mumbai, July 23: Infosys Limited, a leading IT company in India, announced its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27 (April-June) on Thursday. The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹7,775 crore, marking an 8.6% decline from the previous quarter’s profit of ₹8,509 crore. However, the company showed strong performance on a year-over-year basis.
According to an exchange filing, the net profit increased by 12.3% compared to ₹6,921 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Revenue from operations for the April-June quarter rose to ₹48,211 crore, a 14% increase from ₹42,279 crore in the same period last year. The company also recorded a 3.9% revenue growth on a quarter-over-quarter basis, up from ₹46,402 crore in the January-March quarter.
During this period, the company’s total expenses increased to ₹38,157 crore, compared to ₹33,581 crore in the same quarter last year.
Infosys announced its quarterly results after market hours. Prior to the announcement, the company’s shares closed at ₹1,052.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), reflecting a slight decline of 0.08% or ₹0.80.
In addition to the financial results, Infosys revealed a significant leadership transition. Chairman Nandan Nilekani announced the appointment of Ashish Kumar Dash as CEO-designate. Nilekani stated that Dash is a leader who has emerged from within the company and is capable of driving substantial changes while upholding the company’s values and customer trust.
Nilekani praised the leadership of current Managing Director and CEO Salil Parekh over the past nine years. He noted that Parekh has strengthened the company’s market position, expanded its capabilities, created significant value for shareholders, and laid a solid foundation for an artificial intelligence (AI)-based strategy.
Salil Parekh expressed that it has been an honor to lead Infosys. He highlighted that during his tenure, the company’s annual revenue grew from $10 billion to over $20 billion. Additionally, Infosys established itself as a leader in digital transformation and developed a distinct and robust strategy for AI transformation.
