
New Delhi, June 6: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has praised India’s economic progress, highlighting a GDP growth rate of 7.7% for the fiscal year 2025-26. He stated that this growth signifies India’s resilience and the solid foundation established over the past 12 years through the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform, Transform.’
In a post on the social media platform X, Singh noted, “At a time when many countries are facing economic uncertainty, India has carved out a distinct identity as the fastest-growing major economy in the world. The economy grew at a rate of 7.7% in the fiscal year 2025-26, accelerating to 7.8% in the fourth quarter. This reflects India’s strength and the solid groundwork laid over the last 12 years.”
During his remarks, Singh also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He wrote, “Under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, India has advanced not only in economic growth but also in stability, confidence, sustainability, and reliability. His unwavering commitment to nation-building, focus on innovation, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship, along with his ability to steer the country through unprecedented global challenges, has established India as a confident, robust, and respected economic power.”
Singh further added, “As India moves towards the vision of a ‘Developed India,’ this remarkable growth story is creating new opportunities and strengthening the hopes of 1.4 billion Indians.”
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his satisfaction with the 7.7% GDP growth. In a post on X, Shah remarked, “The visionary economic reforms initiated by Prime Minister Modi are continuously propelling economic prosperity in the country, making India the fastest-growing major economy in the world. At a time when the global economy is grappling with crises, India’s 7.7% growth rate and its performance surpassing all major economies is proof of how resilient our economy has become over the past 12 years. Whether during the pandemic or amidst global challenges like war, Modi’s visionary policies have safely guided the nation through every crisis.”
