Kyiv/New Delhi, Mar 6 : The Indian Embassy in Kyiv on Sunday said that a group of 44 Indian students who began their trip from Pisochyn are on their way to the Polish border, while another group of 150 Indians has reached the Romanian border. In a tweet, the Indian Embassy said: “Bringing our Indians back home “Group of 44 Indians who began their trip from Pisochyn are on their way to the Polish border from Lviv. “Other group of 150+ have made their way to the Romanian border. “Our efforts are ongoing. Be Safe Be Strong.” Separately, the Indian Embassy in Hungary tweeted a video of students and volunteers expressing their excitement at being taken home. They shouted “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai”. “Students & volunteers expressing their excitement before the flight from Budapest to New Delhi today in the last leg of Operation Ganga,” it said in a tweet. In the morning, the Indian Embassy in Hungary had said that it is beginning its last leg of evacuation under Operation Ganga, and asked all students to reach the Hungarian City Centre at Rakoczi in Budapest.On Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv said it had evacuated all Indians from the safe zone of Pisochyn. “Pisochyn has been evacuated of all Indian citizens. Mission will continue to remain in touch with them through their journey. Their safety has always been our priority. Be Safe Be Strong.” The MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in his media briefing in New Delhi yesterday said five more buses had been organised to move Indians out of Pisochyn, and that they had been able to arrange for food and water for the Indians there. The Indian Ambassador Parth Satpathy said in a message yesterday that barring Kharkiv and Sumy, almost all Indians from the remaining regions of Ukraine have been evacuated. “In the case of Kharkiv, despite it being an active war zone with heavy shelling, we have maintained consistent and constant efforts to evacuate our citizens.”Towards this end, in the past two days alone, we have evacuated more than 500 Indians from Pisochyn.
