Indian Womens Cricket Team Boosts Team Indias Spirit Ahead of T20 World Cup Final

New Delhi, March 8: The Indian women’s cricket team, currently in Australia, has extended their best wishes to Team India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 final. The match is set to take place against New Zealand this Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The BCCI released a video on the women’s team’s official X account featuring head coach Amol Majumdar, along with players Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Sneh Rana, all wishing Team India good luck for the final. The video caption reads, “One Team India that won the World Cup at home, another is going to win the World Cup at home tonight.”

Head coach Amol Majumdar expressed, “I want to wish everyone good luck. There will be a huge crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium. It will be a fantastic atmosphere for playing a World Cup final.”

All-rounder Deepti Sharma added, “All the best to Team India for the World Cup final. We are all supporting you. Go and win!”

Jemimah Rodrigues encouraged, “Let’s bring it home. We are praying for you.”

The Indian women’s cricket team clinched their first ODI World Cup by defeating South Africa on November 2, 2025, in a match held in Mumbai.

If the Indian team succeeds in defeating New Zealand to win the World Cup, they will achieve multiple records. They would become the first team to win three T20 World Cups and could also be the first to win back-to-back T20 World Cups at home.

This marks the fourth time the Indian team has reached the T20 World Cup final, a record for any team. India has previously won the championship in 2007 and 2024.
