Chennai, February 8: The Indian Navy has successfully recovered the driver’s cabin of a trailer that capsized near the coastal berth of Chennai Port. This operation was conducted in coordination with the Chennai Port Authority and local police, showcasing a swift and professional response.
Upon receiving the incident report, the Indian Navy promptly dispatched a specialized diving team for rescue operations. A total of five trained divers from various naval units, including INS Adyar, were deployed to the site.
In a press release issued by the Indian Navy on Sunday, it was stated that the divers conducted an underwater search and recovery operation while maintaining continuous coordination with port officials and surface recovery teams. Despite challenging conditions, the team executed the operation in an organized manner, ensuring that the entire process was smooth and effective.
Working alongside port authorities and surface teams, the divers respectfully recovered the deceased and safely extracted the overturned cabin, allowing normal operations at the port to resume. Thanks to the Indian Navy’s prompt and professional action, the body of the deceased was retrieved with dignity, and the capsized driver’s cabin was secured.
