Indian Mens and Womens Hockey Teams Triumph at Junior Asia Cup

New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams celebrated a remarkable victory at the Junior Asia Cup, held on September 13, 2026. Both teams showcased their skills, with the men’s team defeating South Korea 4-1 and the women’s team edging out China 1-0.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan congratulated both teams on their achievements. He praised the junior women’s team for successfully defending their title without losing a match and commended the men’s team for their impressive final win.

In the men’s final, India dominated the game, with Ajit Yadav scoring the first goal in the 9th minute. Anmol Ekka followed suit with another goal in the 13th minute, putting India ahead 2-0. Prabhdeep added a third goal in the 21st minute, and Ashu Maurya sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 50th minute. South Korea managed to score only once throughout the match.

The women’s team secured their title through strong defensive play. Sanika Chandrakant netted the only goal of the match in the 17th minute, and the team maintained their lead by preventing China from equalizing.

Vice President Radhakrishnan emphasized that these victories reflect the extraordinary talent, discipline, and determination of India’s young athletes. He wished both teams continued success and further honors for the nation.
