INDIAN ARMY’S SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND CELEBRATES ITS 18th RAISING DAY

Jaipur :  The Headquarters of the South Western Command observed its 18th Raising Day on Friday at Jaipur. A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was organised at the Prerna Sthal to pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
In his message on the occasion, Lieutenant General AS Bhinder, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command greeted all ranks, civilian staff, veterans and families. The Army Commander urged all ranks to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and continue to perform their constitutional role in a professional manner. Raised on Apr 15, 2005, the seventh and youngest Command of Indian Army, christened as Sapta Shakti Command is eternally resolved to conform to its motto – Forever Victorious.
The Command, in addition to its primary role of operational preparedness has achieved exceptionally high standards in environmental protection, proliferation of medicare, education, welfare of Veterans and Veer Nari’s, empowerment projects and sports.
The Army Commander in special order of the day complimented all ranks for their extraordinary leadership, courage and sacrifice to keep the flag of the Command, the Indian Army and the nation flying high and exhorted all ranks to rededicate towards safeguarding the nation’s integrity and resolve to confront new challenges with exemplary professionalism and courage.
