New Delhi: This Republic Day, the Indian Army is set to present a never-before-seen spectacle by displaying a ‘Battle Arena’ during the parade. This innovative showcase will vividly depict the battlefield strategies, demonstrating how the army advances, attacks, and counters the enemy, all within a single integrated display.
The highlight will be a glimpse of Operation ‘Sindoor’, paying tribute to its success. The performance will feature an Integrated Operations Centre representing the nerve centre where battle plans are devised. It will reveal how real-time target identification, coordinated attacks, and air defence systems like the ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ work together to safeguard the nation.
Unlike previous parades where military units and weaponry appeared separately, this time the sequence will simulate an actual war scenario. Viewers will witness surveillance systems, tanks, infantry, artillery, missiles, helicopters, and logistics and security arrangements functioning in unison. This comprehensive display will underscore the Indian Army’s readiness, strength, and agility.
The demonstration will also highlight the army’s use of advanced indigenous technology. It will showcase how modern warfare is no longer confined to guns and tanks but is fought with data, drones, and cutting-edge technology. The army will illustrate its capability to monitor the enemy remotely, make timely decisions, and execute precision strikes using fully homegrown weapons and systems. This also reflects the joint efforts of the army, navy, and air force, reinforcing India’s commitment to self-reliance.
Several new units and weapon systems will make their debut this year, including the Bhairav Battalion, Shaktibaan Regiment, and Divyastra Battery. Among the fresh equipment are the 155mm ATAGS artillery gun, a long-range universal rocket launcher system, drones, robotic dogs, unmanned vehicles, and loitering munitions, all showcased to the public for the first time.
Six marching contingents from the Indian Army will participate in the parade. These include the Mixed Scouts, Rajput Regiment, Assam Regiment, Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry, Regiment of Artillery, and Bhairav Battalion. Additionally, contingents from the Navy, Air Force, paramilitary forces, and Delhi Police will also march in unison. The parade will display formidable firepower with T-90 Bhishma and Arjun tanks, BMP-2 Sarath infantry combat vehicles, missile systems, and helicopters such as Dhruv, Rudra, Apache, and Prachand. Missile systems including Akash, MRSAM, and BrahMos will further enhance the display.
Approximately 6,065 personnel will take part in this grand parade, led by Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar. The atmosphere will be enriched by 12 military bands and eight pipe bands, adding to the spectacle. Overall, the 77th Republic Day parade promises to reflect a modern, technologically advanced, and self-reliant Indian Army, fully prepared to meet any challenge.
