Belfast, June 26: Right-arm fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has made an unwanted mark in T20 international cricket, conceding a total of 125 runs across two consecutive matches. In the first T20 match against Ireland on Friday, Krishna bowled four overs, giving away 57 runs without taking a wicket. This follows his previous performance on November 28, 2023, where he allowed 68 runs against Australia, also without claiming a wicket.
Since his T20 international debut on November 28, 2023, Krishna has bowled a total of 144 balls in six matches, conceding 277 runs while taking eight wickets.
Krishna’s initial two matches in T20 internationals were against Ireland, where he performed well, taking two wickets for 32 runs in the first match and two wickets for 29 runs in the second.
However, in the subsequent three-match T20 series against Australia, he managed to secure only four wickets. In Visakhapatnam, he took one wicket for 50 runs, and in Thiruvananthapuram, he claimed three wickets for 41 runs. Yet, in Guwahati, he conceded 68 runs without taking any wickets.
After a long absence from the T20 team, Krishna’s recent return has once again left Indian fans disappointed.
In the ongoing match at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Ireland, batting first after losing the toss, scored 182 runs for the loss of nine wickets. They lost four wickets for just 51 runs. Gareth Delany formed a crucial partnership with captain Lorcan Tucker, adding 64 runs for the fifth wicket off 44 balls.
Tucker scored 50 runs off 36 balls, hitting two sixes and five fours, before returning to the pavilion. Delany, with a score of 49, partnered with George Dockrell (19) to add 49 runs for the sixth wicket in just 16 balls, propelling the team to a formidable total. For India, Harshit Rana took three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel each claimed two wickets, with Shivam Dube taking one.
