India Poised for Victory Against England in T20 World Cup Semifinal: Yash Thakkar

Mumbai, March 5: The second semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2026 between India and England is set to take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday at 7 PM. Cricket fans in Rajkot are optimistic about India’s strong performance, believing the team will defeat England and face New Zealand in the finals, ultimately claiming the title.

In an interview, Yash Thakkar, coach of the Saurashtra Cricket Association’s Under-14 team, expressed confidence in India’s chances. “India has the upper hand against England. After watching Sanju Samson’s impressive batting in the last match against the West Indies, it seems all our players are in form. In the previous T20 match at Wankhede against England, Abhishek scored a century. He could play a significant innings in the semifinal. Our batting and bowling are both strong, so we will win this match,” he stated.

Young cricketer Rudra noted that after a setback against South Africa in the Super-8, the Indian team made a remarkable comeback, securing victories against Zimbabwe and the West Indies to reach the semifinals.

“Both our batsmen and bowlers are performing well. While England is a formidable team, the support from fans at Wankhede will boost India, and we will emerge victorious. Team India will play in the finals and defeat New Zealand to win the championship,” Rudra added.

Another young player, Dhairya Thakkar, also expressed confidence in India’s success against England. “With players like Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya in form, we won’t face any batting issues. Our bowling is strong with Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy,” he said.

The winning team from the semifinal will face New Zealand in the final match on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
