Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India achieved a remarkable victory, defeating New Zealand by a significant margin of 96 runs. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several central ministers congratulated the Indian team on their triumph.

It is noteworthy that Team India has claimed the T20 World Cup 2026 title. In the final match played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, the Indian team crushed New Zealand by 96 runs. India has become the first nation to win the T20 World Cup on home soil, achieving the trophy for the third time. While chasing a massive target of 256 runs set by India, New Zealand was bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs.
