India Announces U15 and U20 Teams for Asian Wrestling Championship

New Delhi, June 5: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has finalized the U15 and U20 teams for the upcoming Asian Wrestling Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, following the completion of selection trials at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

Several promising wrestlers secured their spots after impressive performances during the trials. In the U20 women’s category, wrestlers such as Parveen (50 kg), Muskan (53 kg), Kajal (55 kg), Savita (62 kg), and Mansi Lathar (68 kg) emerged victorious in their respective weight classes.

Among the U15 girls, Smriddhi Satish (33 kg), Gauri Satish (39 kg), Vinakshi (46 kg), and Disha Shaukeen (66 kg) showcased exceptional skills.

The men’s freestyle selection also featured a strong mix of established junior talents and emerging stars. Pawan Balaji Dhayagude (65 kg), Sumitkumar Lakshman Bharaskar (70 kg), and heavyweight Raunak (125 kg) made the U20 team, while Jatin (38 kg), Gautam (41 kg), Harshad Keshav Chemte (75 kg), and Vivek Chauhan (85 kg) secured their places in the U15 team.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, the U20 team will be led by Neeraj Patel (55 kg), Aryan Malik (63 kg), Dheeraj Kumar Malik (77 kg), Vikas Dalal (87 kg), and heavyweight Dishant (130 kg).

The U15 Greco-Roman team includes promising names like Rohit Ashok Mali (41 kg), Prayas Dhauchak (57 kg), Darpan Raju Chaudhary (62 kg), and Kushal Kajal (68 kg).
