
Washington, April 25: Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan engaged in discussions with a senior official from the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. This conversation aimed to further enhance the growing strategic alignment between the two nations regarding regional security.
General Chauhan spoke with General Kevin B. Schneider, the Pacific Air Forces Commander and the Air Component Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Both parties emphasized their shared priorities in regional security and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
The Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters posted on social media platform X, stating, “General Anil Chauhan, CDS, spoke with General Kevin B. Schneider, confirming the deepening strategic collaboration between India and the U.S. The dialogue highlighted their shared intent to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.”
Furthermore, both sides expressed a clear intent to enhance and operate within the scope, complexity, and frequency of bilateral and tri-service engagements.
The statement continued, “Recognizing technology as a crucial factor for modern power, this partnership is continuously evolving with improved coordination, capabilities, and strategic foresight.”
Earlier this week, General Chauhan held multiple meetings with senior military officials from the United Kingdom. He met with his UK counterpart, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton. During this meeting, India and the UK reaffirmed their shared intent to address contemporary challenges, from global trade imbalances to emerging cyber threats, while promoting a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
The Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters posted on X, “During his official visit to the UK, General Anil Chauhan, CDS, engaged with Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, CDS UK. India and the UK reiterated their commitment to jointly tackle today’s challenges, including global trade imbalances and emerging cyber threats, while advancing a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific and leveraging rapid technological changes.”
It was further stated, “This visit will strengthen defense cooperation and strategic unity, showcasing a shared commitment to global security, stability, and resilience against tensions.”
During his visit to the UK, General Chauhan also interacted with the Commandant and faculty of the Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS), discussing the evolving global security environment, internal trends, and their strategic implications.
The Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters later posted, “He addressed a senior group on the topic of ‘The Impact of Recent Conflicts on Military Strategy,’ emphasizing the changing nature of conflicts, India’s strategic challenges, and India’s role in creating a stable and secure global order.”
