IIIT Bhagalpur Graduation Ceremony: Vinod Tawde Encourages Students to Innovate for Society and Nation
Vinod Tawde urges IIIT Bhagalpur graduates to leverage their skills for societal and national development during the graduation ceremony.

Bhagalpur, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : Indian politician and BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde addressed the graduation ceremony at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur on September 26, 2026. He congratulated the graduates, emphasizing that the degrees they received mark not the end of their academic journey, but the beginning of a new intellectual and professional chapter.
Tawde urged the graduates to apply their knowledge and skills towards the development of society and the nation. He highlighted the immense potential inherent in education, stating that when students enter an institution, they bring curiosity, dreams, and capabilities. Over the years, education transforms these potentials into real abilities. He noted that the graduation ceremony represents a significant milestone in this developmental journey.
Reflecting on Bhagalpur’s historical significance, Tawde remarked on the region’s rich legacy in knowledge and education. Centuries ago, Vikramshila was a major center for knowledge creation, study, and dissemination. Today, IIIT Bhagalpur continues this legacy by shaping new possibilities in information technology within the modern technological era.
He pointed out that the pace of knowledge creation and dissemination has accelerated dramatically in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. Artificial intelligence has further expedited access to information, research, data, and analysis. In such a context, education’s value lies not just in acquiring information but in understanding it, analyzing its context, establishing connections across fields, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
Tawde emphasized that future innovations will emerge from the intersection of various disciplines. He noted that new possibilities will arise from the convergence of artificial intelligence and healthcare, semiconductors and geopolitics, climate and technology, as well as agriculture and data. Therefore, students should develop not only deep expertise in their respective technical fields but also a broad interdisciplinary perspective.
He asserted that in this fast-changing technological age, a graduate’s most enduring asset will not be a specific programming language, software, or technical system. Instead, their greatest strength will be the ability to engage in lifelong learning, comprehend complex problems, and apply knowledge in new and changing contexts.
Tawde highlighted the importance of technology in regions like Bihar and Bhagalpur. The challenges faced here are not merely academic case studies but real-world problems that require practical solutions. He cited examples of IIIT Bhagalpur’s initiatives, such as AI-based identification of pests and diseases in Bihar’s agriculture, solar-powered cold storage, and rural healthcare, illustrating how education and technology can address societal needs.
He clarified that innovation is not limited to starting new ventures. It can manifest as a new research methodology, a novel application of existing technology, a tool that enhances public systems, a framework that transforms industrial processes, or a new approach to solving complex problems.
Addressing the graduates about their future careers, Tawde explained that their professional journeys will not always follow a straight path. A student may transition from research to industry, technology to entrepreneurship, corporate sector to public policy, or teaching to entirely new fields. He expressed confidence that many significant achievements in the future will arise from the convergence of different subjects and areas of expertise.
Encouraging students to view failures as an integral part of the learning process, Tawde noted that every meaningful endeavor encounters moments when initial solutions fail or outcomes do not meet expectations. Such experiences should be seen not as obstacles, but as opportunities for learning, enhancing understanding, and paving the way for better paths ahead.
He concluded by asserting that today’s education not only prepares students to find their place within existing systems but also equips them with the intellectual capacity to improve those systems and create new solutions. He expressed his belief that graduates from IIIT Bhagalpur possess the potential to achieve accomplishments in the coming years that are currently unimaginable.
Tawde urged graduates to connect knowledge with humility, skills with national service, and success with values. He stated that the greatest success of education lies in transforming an individual from merely a participant in their time into a meaningful contributor to society.
In closing, he congratulated all graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors. He acknowledged that while their journeys post-graduation may diverge in various directions, the education, values, and perspectives gained at the institute will always accompany them.
Tawde called upon students to channel their ideas into innovation, transform innovation into opportunities, and convert those opportunities into meaningful contributions for society and the nation.
