IDF Destroys 14 Kilometers of Tunnels in Northern Gaza, Uncovers Weapons and Hideouts

Jerusalem, April 28: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that it has destroyed 14 kilometers of underground tunnels in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF reported that forces from Division 252, along with the Yehalam unit, have been engaged in a specific operation aimed at dismantling Hamas’s underground infrastructure. This operation is primarily focused in northern Gaza and the Beit Hanoun area, east of the Yellow Line.

According to the IDF, during this operation, the brigade’s forces, in collaboration with the Yehalam unit, have successfully destroyed approximately 14 kilometers of tunnels. Inside these tunnels, they discovered sleeping quarters and various weapons. The military continues its mission to clear the area.

The IDF stated that in recent months, the Northern Brigade has eliminated around 70 militants who violated ceasefire agreements and posed immediate threats to soldiers.

Additionally, the IDF has updated its defense policy. Following an assessment by the Home Front Command, it has been decided to impose a limit on gatherings of up to 1,500 people in areas along the confrontation line, including settlements like Meron, Bar Yochai, Or Haganuz, and Safsufa.

The IDF also reported that it has targeted several military installations of Hezbollah in Lebanon, which it considers threats to its soldiers. These include the organization’s headquarters located in the Bint Jbeil area and several other military buildings. Secondary explosions were observed after the attacks, indicating the presence of weapons.

The Israeli military announced on its official ‘X’ account that it has commenced attacks on Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa region and various areas of southern Lebanon.

Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the IDF to intensify its attacks on Hezbollah’s positions in Lebanon.
