Dubai, February 10: The International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have concluded a constructive and amicable dialogue. This meeting addressed several significant issues, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the broader future of cricket in South Asia.
Discussing the unfortunate absence of the Bangladesh cricket team from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the global governing body reaffirmed the BCB’s status as a key full member, highlighting its rich cricketing history and vital role in the growth of the global game.
The ICC reiterated its commitment to facilitating growth in one of cricket’s most vibrant markets, where over 200 million fans reside. This effort aims to ensure that the absence of the national team from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup does not have a long-term impact on cricket in the country.
It has been agreed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board will not face any financial, sporting, or administrative penalties regarding the current situation.
The BCB retains the right to approach the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) should it choose to do so. This right is established under current ICC regulations and will remain intact.

Under this agreement, it has been decided that Bangladesh will host an ICC event before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2031, in accordance with the ICC’s general hosting processes, timelines, and operational requirements.
