Husband Arrested for Murdering Wife Over Cooking Dispute

Noida, June 18: The police in Greater Noida have arrested a husband accused of murdering his wife after she refused to cook for him. The incident took place in the Chitahera village of the Dadri area, where a domestic dispute escalated tragically.

According to police reports, they received information on June 17 regarding the murder of a woman. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they promptly initiated an investigation. Acting on local intelligence and confidential tips, officers apprehended the accused, Mohit, son of Anoop, near the New Mandi area.

During interrogation, Mohit admitted to killing his wife, Kavita. He revealed that he had been struggling with alcoholism for a long time, which often led to disputes and arguments with Kavita.

On the day of the incident, the couple had a heated argument over various issues. The situation intensified when Kavita refused to prepare food, leading to a fierce confrontation. In a fit of rage, Mohit grabbed Kavita’s dupatta and strangled her, resulting in her death at the scene.

After committing the crime, Mohit fled but was later arrested by the police. Following his arrest, authorities recovered the dupatta used in the murder, which has been secured as evidence. The murder has left the family and the village in mourning.

Local residents noted that disputes between the couple were common, but no one anticipated that it would escalate to such a tragic outcome. The police have filed a case against Mohit at the Dadri police station and are proceeding with legal actions against him.
