HP CM starts presenting annual budget.

Shimla, March 4 : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also holding the portfolio of Finance presented the fifth budget of his government in the state assembly on Friday. The budget focuses on the upcoming Vidhan Sabha election and Shimla MC elections. Thakur said the priority would be to repeat the government by serving the people and making the budget people-oriented. Thakur said only two oxygen plant was in the state which have increased to 48 which transformed the health services during the Covid pandemic. He said number of people who died and were affected in the Covid pandemic which a matter of concern but the state government tried to serve the people by achieving the number of milestones which include the administration of a double dose of vaccine to cent percent population. Thakur said a number of investors came during the pandemic in the state as the Sputnik vaccine of Russia is being manufactured in the state is also being supplied to a number of countries. abroad, said on Government extended liberal assistance to the state as Rs 600 Crore was given in the 2022-23 on Budget for capital investment and creation of employment opport ty. He said every sector of the economy is having a green shoot as despite the shrinking state economy between 2019-2021 it is now improving and the state GDP growth rate is expected to grow at the rate of eight percent. The 91 central sponsored schemes central grant would be deposited in the department accounts shortly. He said that 826 schemes are funded with Rs 3452 Cr under NABARD funded schemes, however, during the three years of Cong it was 789 schemes with Rs 3000 Cr. He said the MLA priority scheme under NABARD has been enhanced to Rs 150 Cr which is doubled from previous years. The MLA discretionary grants have been increased from Rs Ten lakh to Rs 12 lakh and ML Area Development scheme from Rs 1.80 Cr to Rs two Cr now. The state would continue Dhuna Rahit Grahini Yojana to provide free gas connections and three free LPG cylinders would be provided and those who have taken one free cylinder would also get two free cylinders. He said the state would become a smoke-free state after providing Grahini Swedha Ayojana. He announced to allot Rs 70 Cr to this scheme by enhancing it from Rs 50Cr. ML SY
