New Delhi, April 15 : on Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reviewed the security preparations for the Amarnath Yatra, which is set to be held in the end of June after remaining suspended for three years due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Home Secretary was on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday and Thursday. Home Minister Amit Shah will also review the security for the Yatra. Bhalla, along with Director Intelligence Bureau and other senior Home Ministry officers, held meetings with Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) DG Kuldiep Singh, Border Security Force (BSF) chief Pankaj Singh, and Amarnathji Shrine Board members during his visit. The Yatra, which is resuming after three years will be held in the backdrop of recent Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and increased targeted attacks by militants. The pilgrimage was cancelled in 2019 due to abrogation of article 370 and in the next two years due to Covid-19. The Home Ministry has already sanctioned 50 companies of CAPFs for the pilgrimage that will be held between June 30 and August 11. AO RKM
