Jaipur, October 17 (Daily Kiran): Acting on the directions of the ACB Headquarters, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kota unit on Friday caught Home Guard Akhtar Hussain red-handed while accepting a ₹4,000 bribe on behalf of Platoon Commander Gajendra Singh of Baran district. The ACB has detained Gajendra Singh for questioning in connection with the case.

According to Additional Director General of Police (ADG), ACB, Smita Srivastava, a complaint was received at the ACB Kota office alleging that Platoon Commander Gajendra Singh was demanding a bribe through his associate Akhtar Hussain in exchange for assigning duty to the complainant. It was also alleged that Singh threatened to exclude the complainant from future Home Guard duties if the bribe was not paid.
Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Anand Sharma and led by Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Swarnkar, a trap was laid by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anish Ahmed of ACB Kota. During the operation, Akhtar Hussain was caught accepting ₹4,000 as per the demand made by the platoon commander.
Following the recovery, Gajendra Singh confirmed his involvement in the bribe transaction during preliminary questioning and was subsequently detained for further interrogation.
DIG Anand Sharma said that questioning of the accused is underway, and a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is in progress.
