Hike in fuel prices ‘assault’ on common people: Cong MP Unnithan

New Delhi, April 4 : Taking a dig at BJP-led government at the Centre over hike in fuel prices, Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan on Monday called it an “assault” on the common people. “The increase in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG is an ‘assault’ on common people. The BJP is ‘hollowing’ the country,” the Congress MP from Kerala said, while raising the matter during ‘Zero Hour’ in Lok Sabha. He further said Kerala being a consumer state is affected by the steep fuel prices hike. “The day-to-day life of people has become miserable due to hike in the prices of petrol and diesel. I urge the Government to relook into the hike in fuel prices, ” Unnithan said in the Lower House. On Monday, the prices of petrol and diesel were again raised by 40 paise per litre. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 103.81 per litre and diesel Rs 97.07 per litre. The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) also raised the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi by Rs 2.5 per kg to Rs 64.11 per kg. DS SY 1440
