Heavy Thunderstorm and Rain Expected in 4 Divisions of Rajasthan Over Next 2-3 Days

Jaipur, April 10 โ€“ A new Western Disturbance is set to bring strong winds and rain to many parts of Rajasthan in the next 2-3 days, resulting in a significant drop in temperatures. The disturbance is already influencing the stateโ€™s weather, and temperatures in 10 cities have fallen below 40 degrees Celsius. Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest day temperature at 43.1ยฐC, while Phalodi had the hottest night with a temperature of 30.2ยฐC. However, the night temperatures in 12 cities crossed the 25-degree mark.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, stated that due to the new Western Disturbance, parts of the state will experience thunder, gusty winds, and rainfall in the afternoons over the next 2-3 days. This weather event is expected to lead to a temperature drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, some areas of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions witnessed afternoon thunderstorms and light rainfall. The disturbance will have the most significant impact on April 11-12.

On April 11, a strong possibility of thunderstorm and rain (40-50 km/h winds) is expected in Bikaner, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Jaipur divisions, and the Shekhawati region. On April 12, similar conditions are anticipated in Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur divisions, with gusty winds and light to moderate rain. However, starting April 13, most areas will experience dry weather, and temperatures are expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius. From April 14-15, there is a strong possibility of temperatures reaching 45ยฐC in southern and western Rajasthan, along with the onset of a heatwave.

In Jaipur, thunderstorms and rain were observed at several locations on Wednesday, leading to a drop in the cityโ€™s temperature. Despite this, the relief from the heat was short-lived. Jaipurโ€™s maximum temperature recorded a 1.9-degree drop, and the minimum temperature fell by 1.8 degrees. The maximum temperature in Jaipur was recorded at 41.1ยฐC, while the minimum was 26.6ยฐC. The city is likely to experience further temperature drops in the next 2-3 days due to the thunderstorms and rain.
