Meteorologist Dr. Divya E. Surendran stated that the monsoon trough is currently passing through the western and southern parts of the state, while the low-pressure area remains active. The impact of this system is likely to be seen for the next two to three days, leading to a forecast of heavy rainfall in the region.

On Monday, heavy rain is likely in Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna.

Earlier, on Sunday, several districts of the state experienced rain. The Ruparel river in Khargone reached flood-like conditions, while rain in Barwani’s Sendhwa and Niwali areas led to waterlogging in many colonies. However, heavy rain in Sheopur brought relief from heat and humidity. Pithampur in Dhar also saw heavy rainfall, while Bhopal remained sunny, resulting in lingering heat and humidity. Light rain was recorded in Datia, Guna, Narmadapuram, Khandwa, Damoh, and Jabalpur. About three-fourths of an inch of rain was recorded in Khandwa.

The monsoon arrived in the state on 16 June, and since then, the state has received an average of 31.3 inches of rainfall.
