Chandigarh, May 18: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has dismissed the concerns raised by the Congress and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) regarding the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) recruitments as mere ‘political stunts.’
He emphasized that the recruitment process in the state is entirely transparent, with jobs being awarded solely based on merit and qualifications.
In a media interaction, the Chief Minister stated that during the Congress and INLD’s tenure, merit was never prioritized. He noted that the youth and their parents had lost faith in the government, feeling that securing a job was no longer possible through education and hard work.
Saini asserted that the current government has implemented a transparent recruitment system, allowing any eligible youth to secure a job based on their efforts and capabilities. He questioned why candidates from other states should not be able to find employment in Haryana when local youth can secure positions in UPSC and states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
He clarified that it is a constitutional provision that allows any citizen to seek employment in any state based on their qualifications. The merit-based recruitments in Haryana stand as the strongest evidence of the state’s transparent system.
Addressing the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the global energy crisis, the Chief Minister noted that the world is currently facing an energy shortage. In light of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to conserve energy.
He encouraged people to walk more, use bicycles, trains, and public transport. Saini advised that private vehicle use should be limited to essential needs. He stressed that this issue is not just India’s concern but a global problem that requires collective cooperation.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government has directed public offices to conduct as many meetings as possible virtually and to adopt work-from-home practices wherever feasible.
Targeting the Congress party over inflation, Saini claimed that the party is politicizing the issue today, despite having allowed inflation to spiral out of control during its rule. He accused Congress of playing politics during crises, similar to its behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic, when unity was essential to overcome challenges.
He concluded by stating that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies, the country has not only managed to control the COVID crisis effectively but has also kept inflation in check over the past eleven and a half years.
