Mumbai, March 3: The T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal match between Team India and England is set for March 5 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Hardik Pandya is just 23 runs away from surpassing KL Rahul in a significant milestone.
Currently, Hardik Pandya ranks fifth among India’s top run-scorers in T20 cricket, having accumulated 2,243 runs in 136 matches. In contrast, KL Rahul holds the fourth position with 2,265 runs from 72 matches. If Hardik manages to score 23 runs against England in the upcoming semifinal, he will overtake Rahul.
Rohit Sharma leads the list of T20 run-scorers for India, amassing 4,231 runs in 159 matches. Following him is Virat Kohli, who has scored 4,188 runs in 125 matches at a strike rate of 137. Suryakumar Yadav ranks third with 3,261 runs.
Pandya’s performance in the T20 World Cup 2026 has been mixed. He has scored 172 runs at a strike rate of 156 in seven matches, including two half-centuries. Additionally, he has taken six wickets. However, his performances against stronger teams have been disappointing. In the Super-8 round against South Africa, he was dismissed for just 18 runs and conceded 45 runs in four overs.
Against the West Indies, Hardik also struggled, giving away 40 runs in four overs and scoring only 17 runs off 14 balls. As the Indian team approaches the semifinal against England, they will be counting on Hardik to deliver a strong performance.
