Hamirpur police made 2,279 challans against violators of MV act

Hamirpur (HP), April 2 : Hamirpur police made challans against 2,279 people and recovered a fine of rupees 34,51,000 rupees from the violators, officials informed on Saturday. SP, Hamirpur Dr Akriti Sharma said that during the period, January 19th , 2022 to March 31st , 2022, as many as 1991 challans of over speeding, 271 of plying vehicles without helmets nine others of triple riding were made. She said that while a sum of 9,31,500 rupees was recovered from these 2,279 violators, others who were fined a sum of 25,19,500,00 lakh rupees for the violation of other provisions of the MV act and related acts. The SP appealed to the people not to violate the provisions of the MV act and wear helmets, avoid over speeding and not to resort to triple riding for their own benefits and welfare. She said that the police were people friendly and people were guided from time to time about the traffic rules and other police rules and bye laws. /CSS ACL1227
