The court said that it will not hear the PIL on this matter. The petitioner lawyer had referred to three orders of the 90s, according to which status quo was asked to be maintained in Kashi and Mathura.

The Varanasi District Court had recently ordered to consider the petition related to the right to worship Goddess Shringar Gauri on behalf of five women as worthy of hearing. After this, now the hearing in the case has started.

There is a demand from the Hindu side that they should get the right to worship Goddess Shringar Gauri every day. For this, permission should be given to go to the temple located in the mosque premises. Simultaneously, the hearing started on the petition seeking carbon dating of the Shivling found in the Vazukhana of the mosque complex. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding these matters.
