
New Delhi, May 21: In a shocking incident in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, two young men riding a motorcycle were shot at by unidentified assailants on Thursday. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries, while the other remains hospitalized.
According to police officials, the shooting occurred in the Rani Pur village area of the Mubarakpur police station. The two young men were traveling on their bike when they were ambushed by attackers who opened fire as they approached the village. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene.
Hearing the gunshots, local residents rushed to help, and both victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, one of the young men died during treatment. The other victim, identified as Pintoo Yadav, is currently receiving medical care. Doctors report that Pintoo was grazed by a bullet but is now out of danger.
The incident has caused widespread panic in the area, leading to heightened tensions among residents. Senior police officials, including the Superintendent of Police, arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Based on the injured victim’s statement, a case has been registered, and a search for the attackers is underway.
Reports indicate that the deceased, identified as Sushil from Kodhwa village, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Meanwhile, police are forming a team to apprehend the assailants. Superintendent of Police Dr. Anil Kumar stated that he personally inspected the crime scene and instructed his team to gather all necessary evidence. They are also interviewing Pintoo at the hospital to gather more details about the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, although some evidence has been collected based on Pintoo’s statement.
