Ahmedabad, April 28: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi claimed on Tuesday that external funds were brought in to mislead farmers during the recent elections. He made these remarks while addressing the ‘Vijay Utsav’ event, celebrating the BJP’s electoral performance across the state.
This event was held following the announcement of election results, where the BJP showcased strong performances in various municipalities and local bodies throughout Gujarat.
BJP leaders and workers participated in celebrations held in different districts after the electoral victory. Addressing the party workers, Sanghvi stated that the election results reflect widespread support for the BJP across Gujarat.
He remarked, “Today, the BJP has won in every corner of Gujarat. Victories have been recorded from various wards. The role of party workers has been crucial in this outcome.”
Sanghvi noted that the BJP’s influence has strengthened in all regions, including North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Central Gujarat, and Saurashtra. He emphasized that the saffron wave has swept across every part of Gujarat.
Describing the relationship between the BJP and the public as a broad social engagement, he stated that the BJP and citizens together form the world’s largest family. He added that this victory is not just for the workers but for the entire populace of Gujarat.
Discussing the candidate selection process, he mentioned that the party has nominated individuals from diverse backgrounds. The list included doctors, engineers, social workers, and people from various professions. He also highlighted that even a bangle seller and a rickshaw driver were given tickets.
Sanghvi praised the efforts of party workers during the election campaign. He said, “Regardless of the heat or any circumstance, the workers remained steadfast in the field. You all have worked day and night to achieve this victory.”
He reiterated accusations of external influence, stating that attempts were made to sway the sentiments of rural areas during the elections. He remarked, “On one hand, my state’s farmers were distressed, and on the other, funds were brought in from outside to confuse them.”
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded that the results demonstrate the party’s organizational strength and its connection with the grassroots. He urged workers to maintain continuous contact with the public and address local issues.
