New Delhi, March 24 : on Minister for Minority Affairs Mukthar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said the Modi government was working on the empowerment of minorities without “political exploitation”. “Earlier, there was only ‘appeasement’ of the minorities but not development. We have been working on empowerment of the minorities without political exploitation,” Naqvi said in response to a supplementary in the Lok Sabha. Claiming that the Modi government’s endeavour is to work for the overall development of the minorities and poor, the Minister said that mantra of the government is “development without discrimination, empowerment with dignity”. “The Modi government … (is) benefitting all sections of the society including minorities,” he added.
