Mumbai, March 3 : Legislators of Maharashtra’s ruling coalition on Thursday shouted slogans and protested against Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari over his remarks about Chhatrapati Shivaji, forcing him to leave the Assembly without completing his address to the joint session. Unprecedented chaos erupted as soon as the Governor reached the Central Hall as legislators from the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress shouting slogans against Koshyari and in praise of Shivaji. State NCP President and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil accused the BJP of raising “low level” slogans, which the governor could not tolerate and so he left without waiting for the national anthem. BJP members demanded the removal of Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik from his post following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate last week in connection with a money laundering case involving gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides.
