Gold Prices Surge Past ₹1.57 Lakh for 10 Grams

New Delhi, February 12: Gold prices experienced a significant increase on Wednesday, pushing the cost of 24-carat gold for 10 grams above ₹1.57 lakh once again.

According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold rose by ₹1,067, reaching ₹1,57,322 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,56,255 per 10 grams.

The price of 22-carat gold also saw an increase, climbing from ₹1,43,130 to ₹1,44,107 per 10 grams. Similarly, 18-carat gold prices rose from ₹1,17,191 to ₹1,17,992 per 10 grams.

On the other hand, silver prices surged by ₹7,349, reaching ₹2,66,449 per kilogram, up from ₹2,59,100 per kilogram on Tuesday.

In the futures market, both gold and silver prices saw upward trends on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The price for gold contracts due on April 2, 2026, increased by 0.94% to ₹1,58,284, while silver contracts due on March 5, 2026, rose by 3.91% to ₹2,62,435.

Internationally, gold and silver prices also showed an upward trend. As of the time of writing, gold was priced at $5,086 per ounce, up by 1.10%, while silver reached $83 per ounce, a 4.35% increase.

Jatin Trivedi from LKP Securities noted that gold on the MCX saw a rise of ₹1,700, indicating that investors positioned themselves ahead of the U.S. unemployment and non-farm payroll data.

He further mentioned that the support level for gold is around ₹1,55,000, while resistance levels range between ₹1,60,000 and ₹1,62,000.
