Panaji, May 15: Ketan Bhatikar, a renowned physiotherapist and Congress leader, passed away on Friday morning, sparking a wave of mourning in Goa’s political landscape. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and several other leaders have expressed their condolences over Bhatikar’s untimely demise.
Reports indicate that Bhatikar was bitten by a snake while stopping at Anmod Ghat in Dharbandora during his travels. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Dharbandora, where doctors declared him dead.
Following the news, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed his sorrow on social media. He wrote, “I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the untimely demise of renowned physiotherapist Ketan Bhatikar. His passing is a significant loss to the medical community. My heartfelt condolences are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May God grant his soul peace.”
Amit Patkar, president of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, also took to social media to express his grief. He stated, “We are profoundly saddened by the passing of our party leader, Dr. Ketan Bhatikar.”
In his post, Patkar highlighted Bhatikar’s unwavering dedication to public service and his invaluable contributions to society, which will always be remembered with great respect. He extended his deepest sympathies to Bhatikar’s family, friends, and supporters, wishing them strength during this challenging time.
The Goa Congress also shared a message on their official social media account, expressing their sorrow over Bhatikar’s death. They acknowledged his steadfast dedication, commitment to public service, and contributions to the party and society, which will always be held in high regard. They extended their heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, friends, and supporters, praying for peace for his soul and strength for his family to cope with this irreparable loss.
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, also expressed his sadness over Bhatikar’s passing. He stated, “I am shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Goa’s prominent leader Ketan Bhatikar. My heartfelt condolences are with his family, loved ones, and supporters during this time of grief. May God grant his soul peace. Om Shanti.”
