Goa TMC general secretary Vijay Pai resigns

Panaji, March 25 : Goa Trinamool Congress general secretary Vijay Resigned from the post as well as from the primary membership of the party on Friday. ”I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership as well as that of the General Secretary of the Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) with immediate effect,” Mr Pai said in the resignation letter addressed to party state president Kiran Kanodlkar. It is first resignation of a party leader after its abysmal performance in the assembly elections held last month. TMC had contested the assembly elections in alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) but could not win a single seat. The MGP which won two seats have extended support to the BJP which has claimed to form the government. Pai is one of the founding members of TMC in Goa. Other founding members like Yatish Naik and Lavu Mamledar had quit the party before the assembly elections. Mamledar had accused TMC of dividing Goans on religious lines. AKM GNK
