Beijing, February 25: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is on an official visit to China from February 25 to 26. In a special interview with China Media Group‘s “High-End Interview” program on February 24, Michael Schumann, President of the German Economic Development and Foreign Trade Association, stated that this visit signifies ongoing cooperation and reflects a practical economic perspective.
Schumann noted that Chancellor Merz’s delegation is the largest business group to visit China since the era of former Chancellor Angela Merkel. He views this as a very positive sign, indicating that the German economy and industry are firmly committed to collaborating with China.
So far this year, three European leaders have visited China. Schumann believes these visits demonstrate that dialogue with China remains a priority. They also indicate that in an increasingly unstable world, many are beginning to recognize China as a stable foundation.
